Workshop “Reforms, transformation and cultural heritage: a view from the economic history” St. Peterburg

The seminar was organized by the Center of Studies of Economic Culture (Faculty of Liberal Arts and Sciences), Smolny College (St. Petersburg ) jointly with CSDSI NES (Moscow ) and “Leontief Centre” (St. Petersburg )


The Workshop is a continuation of the international scientific conference “The role of the history and diversity in understanding economic development”, Moscow, October 9­-10.

The papers were presented by the following speakers:

  • Jean­ Philippe Plateau -­ professor emeritus of the Center for Development Economics Research, University of Namur, Belgium
  • Tommy Murphy -­ economic historian at the University of Bocconi, Italy
  • Saumitra Jha­ – professor at Stanford University, an expert on the political economy of South Asia
  • Hosni Zoabi ­- Associate Professor of Macroeconomics at NES, a senior fellow at Fox.
