As the important role of history and diversity in understanding development becomes more and more salient, NES CSDSI did not shy away from shaping the discussion by holding a very high profile conference on the matter

World class professors from around the globe were brought to the Russian capital to the benefit of both the scholarly community and the Russian audience. Many insightful and eye-opening discussions helped all of us have a better understanding of how the patterns of current development might have been sown by historical events. And such an important event on history and development could only be held in such a historic city like Moscow. We enjoyed all of the contributions of excellent scholars, learned a lot from them, and we hope to have them back!
